Beating the Casino?

Is it possible to make money from casino gambling? This question is rather broad since everyone will have a different idea on the how much is enough for them. So instead we'll go through these questions and answers to satisfy everybody's need & for their better understanding.

I will ignore the usage or advantage of any particular betting systems here.......

A - Is it possible for most people to make a little money very quickly from the casino?
Answer: By employing a hit and run technique, most people can win a little from the table games.

The above answer is correct based on the assumption that everybody brings in a few hundred dollars and only aims to make a $5 profit using a Martingale betting progression.

B - What if I want to make a lot more?
Now this is when most people will end up giving it all back (plus a lot more) to the casino. A casino profits from players who keep on playing until they run out of bankroll, only then would they stop playing. This human behavior is so obvious - try to observe the proportion of players leaving the table after losing all their chips.

Actually if we humans are disciplined enough to leave as a winner then all the casinos in the world would be in trouble! But that's not going to happen overnight. The casino knows this very well & will continue to take advantage of our human weaknesses, one of which is our own greed to win more without realising that the odds are stacked against us the longer we play at the table.

We can imagine the casino establishment as a big fishing boat while each of us are the fish swimming in the vast ocean. When we enter a casino, it's as if we are close to the fishing boat. Now the bait is all around to lure us to play. When we win they know it's just one step closer to the bait. No problem they keep on offering more temptations (free drinks, pretty hostess, etc) to make us stay. But once we start losing, they've got us on their bait. We try to fight back but it seems helpless and then it's too late. They've got us by the hook!

C - So is there such a thing as a disciplined player?
Well they are far from few, usually categorised as a professional gambler. Not so flamboyant as what you may have seen in the fictitious James Bond movie or God of Gamblers series. In reality most of them usually win a little at a time from the casino because they don't want to make it too obvious & attract the wrong attention from everywhere.

D - Can people make money by cheating in the casino?

E - Statistically it's impossible to beat the casino, right?
I will agree with most mathematicians on this one since all the games favour the house (i.e the casino). If people want to win their argument base on the probability theory then they're absolutely right & I have nothing more to say! However just because this is true in theory, it doesn't mean that it's guaranteed to happen to everyone in real life. There have been two reported instances in Australia where baccarat players have defied the laws of probability entirely:
Occasion #1: Mo Chan made $10 million (The Age Press, Melbourne)
Occasion #2: Huong Huynh made $8 million (Sydney Morning Herald)
The writers from both the articles had attributed it all to luck, since there's no logical or mathematical explanation to what had taken place. As you know baccarat is a non-skill game. So if it was really due to luck, how did the players know they were able to sustain on a long winning streak?
